Planning & Building
The Planning & Building Division of Public Services guides private development projects in the City and helps shape the built environment within the policies of the Yelm Comprehensive Plan. The team is responsible for planning and permitting, promoting economic development, and staffing a number of boards and commissions who advise the Mayor and City Council.

Staff is located in City Hall at 106 2nd St SE and business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Please note staff work hybrid in-office/work-from-home schedules, and email is always the best option for a quick, detailed response.
